This unit is designed to compliment the recent unit rolled out by NSW Education Department 2025/6. It is based on the unit of work Unit 2 Syllabus focus areas: Knowledge of our world and beyond inspires sustainable solutions Design and digital technologies engineer sustainable solutions 16 hourly lessons plus 4 hours of additional/optional content. (1 term's work) This unit teaches students to examine the functions of the main organs in the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems and to test how circulation and respiration respond to physical activity. They investigate structural and behavioural adaptations in humans and research Australian inventions that address health or lifestyle needs. Students also explore different ways to represent data and evaluate digital systems. Syllabus outcomes ST3-SCI-01 uses evidence to explain how scientific knowledge can be used to develop sustainable practices ST3-PQU-01 poses questions to identify variables and conducts fair tests to gather data ST3-DAT-01 interprets data to support explanations and arguments ST3-DDT-01 uses design processes to create, evaluate and modify designed solutions ST3-DDT-02 creates, evaluates and modifies algorithms to code or control digital devices and systems ST3-CWT-01 creates written texts to communicate understanding of scientific and technological concepts What is included in this pack? Important note The font which has been used in this presentation is the Google font Edu NSW ACT foundation which needs to be downloaded onto your computer (this can be done by clicking on the blue link provided). You must restart your device once installed and all of the formatting will be correctly in place. This step is VERY important otherwise your units will be misaligned. This is a comprehensive unit which will save you hours and hours of preparation time. It is important at the start of each lesson that you read the teaching notes as there is some Lesson preparation needed for some lessons. These include printing sets of cards in some lessons, printing worksheets for assessment purposes so that work samples are available for each child.
