George III Mahogany Chest of Drawers, c.1810

Five-drawer chest with two short upper drawers over three graduated full-width drawers, each fitted with lion mask ring pulls and ormolu escutcheons, above a shaped apron on splayed bracket feet. Neoclassical form with bleached finish. 37 inches wide by 19 inches deep by 35 ¾ inches tall Overall in good condition with patina consistent with age and bleaching. The finish shows soft surface wear, minor shrinkage marks, tonal variations, veneer losses to apron, and some small veneer repairs; drawers run smoothly with period lion mask hardware intact.
