Approximate measurements: 6cm x 4.2cm x 1.4cm Ocean Jasper is a rare variety of orbicular rhyolite found exclusively along the Ambolobozo Peninsula in northwestern Madagascar. Despite its name, it is not a true jasper. The material formed within volcanic environments over millions of years, creating the distinctive circular patterns, colourful inclusions and occasional druzy cavities seen throughout each piece. Mining at the original localities has been limited, with much of the material currently available coming from older collections and previously mined deposits.
