Beyond Superior: Railroad Station Architecture Near Lake Superior
Beyond Superior is an artistic rendition of railroad architecture found in Northwestern Ontario and in northeastern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and northern Michigan. From the first car bodies to the depots, divisional stations, terminals, tourist depots, chateaux, and union stations, this text is a visual portrait of the magnificent buildings which grace and have graced this incredible landscape. As numerous railroads/railways penetrated the Lake Superior region, rail companies used various architectural styles that are still with us, have fallen into decay, or have been lost to time. This text seeks to preserve these features as a record and a starting point for further research.
