Antique Vintage Original German Holophane Asteroid Ceiling Pendant Light Lamp

- An original and rare 'Asteroid' ceiling pendant with chain and ceiling rose, Germany circa 1920. - The pendant consists of a fluted glass body and separate fully stamped prismatic dish, held together by a decorative copper band. - Beautiful unusual design and of great quality, wear and patina across the bronze gallery, chain and ceiling rose. - Height 47cm, Width 20cm, Depth 20cm. - Rewired in brown braided flex and PAT tested, ready to hang. Asteroid ceiling lights were predominantly manufactured by specialist German workshops in the early 20th Century and were produced as direct German contemporaries to Holophane, featuring the same highly technical pressed-prismatic and opaline glass designs. Produced in Germany during during the Arts & Crafts and early Bauhaus transition, these lights are highly valued for their similarity to the famous Holophane style.
