It must be cut to your vehicle’s original key code only. Copy cutting from an old key is not recommended and will void the keys warranty. Worn keys transfer inaccuracies when copied, which can cause poor operation, damage to your locks, and may permanently damage or cause failure to the new key. Correct Key Cutting Process: 1. Obtain your original key code Have your key decoded by a locksmith or retrieve the code via the OEM blank, door lock cylinder, or VIN. 2.
