Midlands Delft by Katrin Moye

A collaboration between Balineum and Nottingham-based artist, Katrin Moye, this collection is a playful homage to European Delftware tiles; proudly designed and made in the Midlands. Drawing on Moye’s original handmade ceramics, the collection features 7 painterly, botanical designs along with ‘Plain’ tiles available with optional ‘Pips’ corner motifs. Moye focuses on embellished vessels, relief sculpted panels and reinterpretations of historical European tin-glazed ceramics in her art practice, which can be found in permanent museum collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum. References to Georgian, Baroque and Renaissance interior design, Italian Maiolica and Golden Age Dutch painting can all be seen in her work. Arrange them in your own mural configuration, as a chequerboard pattern with Pips tiles or scatter occasional designs across a wall of Midlands Delft Plain tiles. Tiles are made to order in England with no minimums.
