The cotton border is offered in 3 widths: Narrow, Wide and Extra Wide. Narrow corners are lapped; Wide and Extra Wide corners are mitered. Care & Maintenance Regular vacuuming is the best way to keep natural-fiber flooring looking fresh. Vacuum loose dirt with a strong brush-suction vacuum, making several passes from different directions. Vacuuming bound rugs: take special care with the border. Don't let the vacuum sit on the border or catch a corner, and vacuum in the direction the border is sewn so you don't pull it from the rug. Cleaning: control moisture during cleaning. Do not steam clean, wet shampoo, or use any method that saturates the fibers with water — a dry cleaning process is recommended (our Host Cleaning Kit covers up to 250 sq. ft.). Spills: blot fresh spills immediately with a white cloth and scrape up solids; follow with a white cloth dampened with club soda if needed, then dry with a hairdryer or fan. Because natural fibers absorb moisture, clean spills promptly to avoid watermarks.
