South Anna River Oak

This oak was salvaged from the South Anna River mill dam near where the river flows under Route 1 north of Ashland Virginia. The oak beams were laid in place as a mill pond before the civil war and once covered in silt, were preserved and mineralized to this warm gray color that you see. After careful drying and stabilizing, we present a very special heritage handle material. The water is represented by teal liner which picks up some subtle color in the wood.
