Pair of Large Graniglia Leaf Murano Glass Wall Sconces Each of leaf or palmette form, the flaring, irregularly-notched fronds cast in textured gold-flecked glass rising from a ribbed acorn-form base, terminating below in a spherical drop finial, wired for a single interior light source concealed within the glass body. Italy, Modern The naturalistic, flame-like fronds and dense gold-dust suspension are hallmarks of Murano production associated with the Barovier family workshops, whose gold-fleck "palmette" or "foglia" sconces were widely produced through the mid-20th century and remain among the most sought-after wall lights of the Venetian glasshouses. The form derives from earlier 1940s prototypes and continued in production, with variation in scale and frond count, into the 1960s.
