Vintage Framed Mixed Media Relief Scuplture | Hesla 1984
Original mixed-media nail sculpture signed and dated "Hesla '84" at the lower right. This dimensional relief depicts a wooded landscape with winding paths, rolling hills, and stone walls, created from thousands of individually arranged nails, tacks, brads, screws, staples, ball bearings, and assorted fasteners mounted to a backing board. The varying heights, diameters, finishes, and colors of the metal components create remarkable texture and depth, while painted green fasteners define the trees and foliage. The composition is housed in a deep black shadowbox frame that showcases the three-dimensional nature of the work. The sculpture remains in very good condition with only one or two bent fasteners observed and little to no visible oxidation. The shadowbox frame remains in excellent condition with only minimal handling wear. Overall presents exceptionally well. 34" L x 3" W x 25" H Approx. 45-50 lbs.
