Measurements: One size fits most 22-24.8 in circumference History: Based in the textile rich region of Hyogo Japan, Niime pieces are woven on large industrial looms in the traditional style of Japanese weaving called 'Banshu-ori'. This method of weaving was revived by Tamaki Niime back in 2006 after it was effectively made extinct in the mid-80's after being the traditional method of weaving kimonos since the 1700s. Tamaki Niime sought to grow her own materials, including the organic cotton in her weaves, and has a working field next to her looms. Today her entire process of making each piece - from the growing of cotton, to the dying of the thread, to the weaving - is all maintained in 1 place.
