Riverbank: ruu' gew
Size: 60x100cm; 2x3ft Weaver: Crispina Chávez Materials and methods: criollo sheep wool and fine mohair-merino wool blend hand dyed with natural dyes: Bèé (cochineal), cempasuchitl (Marigold)/Pomegranate/Yauhtli (tagetes lucida) blend and Xiuhquilitl (indigo) . Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed and wool rayon blend for warp. Design patterns and symbols. This design was inspired by point loma in San Diego as part of a collaboration with California friends. The design has evolved around the idea of riverbanks and Magalí has adder her own touch in the choice of colors.
