One Size Fits All CD
One Size Fits All by Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention is the final studio album credited to the Mothers, released during Zappa’s mid-1970s run of tightly arranged, jazz-inflected rock records. Recorded with a band that included George Duke, Ruth Underwood, Chester Thompson, and Napoleon Murphy Brock, it captures one of Zappa’s most technically agile touring lineups in the studio. “Inca Roads” opens the album with a surreal vocal narrative and intricate ensemble writing, while “Po-Jama People” turns a blues-rock frame into something more angular and dryly funny. “Sofa No. 1” and “Sofa No. 2” bookend the record’s instrumental and vocal sides of the same recurring theme. Available on CD.
