Solton HD 151

Solton HD 151 is a passive two-way multipurpose fullrange loudspeaker featuring a 15" aaCRAAFT driver on a 4" (100 mm) voice coil and a HF compression driver with a 3" voice coil and 1.4" exit. At 100 dB sensitivity (1 W/1 m) and a 134 dB peak maximum SPL, the HD 151 is one of the higher-output passive 15" cabinets in the Solton range — designed as a standalone fullrange speaker or an MF/HF top in larger PA systems with an external amplifier and processor. GLL files for EASE Focus are available for download from the Solton website. 15" aaCRAAFT with 4" voice coil and 1.5 kHz crossover — extended MF range from the woofer The 15" aaCRAAFT driver on a 4" (100 mm) voice coil is an unusually large voice coil for a fullrange cabinet — larger coil area improves heat dissipation under sustained high-SPL operation and allows higher peak current handling. The passive crossover at 1.5 kHz is substantially lower than the typical 2.5–3.5 kHz split found in conventional passive 15" cabinets — the result is a wider, more coherent MF range from the woofer, which at 1.5 kHz radiates more directionally predictably than a compression driver would in that region. The HF compression driver on a 3" voice coil with a 1.4" exit covers from 1.5 kHz to 20 kHz (-10 dB), with a response of 55 Hz to 18 kHz (±3 dB). PTC protection guards the HF driver. The 90° x 60° constant-directivity horn rotates by hand between vertical and horizontal orientation. Two NL4 connectors (pins 1+/1-), seven M8 inserts, two handles, a pole-mount socket and an optional U-bracket cover all standard configurations. The TU Frame fly bracket (art. 12522) supports flown permanent installations. Passive architecture and birch plywood enclosure — compatible with any amplifier The passive design of the HD 151 gives full flexibility in amplifier and processor choice — the cabinet works with any 8 Ω amplifier capable of 600 W continuous / 2400 W peak, driven through an external DSP or analogue processor. The multi-angle 15 mm birch plywood enclosure with polyurea coating handles stage conditions and delivers consistent radiation at various mounting angles. The recommended subwoofer is the HD 181 Sub — a passive 18" that pairs with the HD 151 to form a complete passive PA system driven from a single stereo amplifier or dedicated bi-amp channels.
