Proline X P12-WDS III Dual 12" Wedge Sealed Enclosure | V3 Enclosure Only! 2.0 ft³ Net | Common Sealed Chamber | Wedge Profile | 8.5" Max Depth | Langboard Elite MDF | Built in Tennessee Two 12" Drivers. Wedge Geometry. Common Sealed Chamber. The Proline X P12-WDS III is the third-generation dual 12" sealed wedge enclosure, built for installs where two drivers are required and trunk space is still a constraint. At 2.0 ft³ net sealed in a common chamber with a tapered profile that hugs the rear seat contour, this enclosure delivers the combined output of a dual 12" system in a footprint that reclaims inches of upper trunk space compared to a rectangular alternative. The wedge tapers from 13.75" deep at the bottom to 8.5" deep at the top, matching the natural recline angle of most modern rear seats. Position the shallow edge against the seatback and the deep edge on the trunk floor — the enclosure nestles flush against the seat naturally, eliminating the wasted triangular void that forms behind a rectangular enclosure. The 28" width accommodates both drivers at correct baffle spacing. Internal bracing runs throughout the common chamber to control panel resonance across the full enclosure width. Every panel is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF to exact internal volume and assembled by hand in our Tennessee facility. Available in Dark Gray Trunkliner at $229.99 or Plush Black at $239.99. Shipping is included. Why Wedge Geometry The Problem With Rectangular Enclosures Modern sedan and coupe rear seats recline at 20 to 30 degrees from vertical. When a rectangular enclosure is placed against that angled surface, the bottom edge sits flush against the seat while the top edge extends straight up into the trunk, leaving a triangular air gap behind the enclosure that serves no acoustic purpose. That wasted space typically measures 2 to 4 inches at the top edge — and at 28" wide, a dual driver rectangular enclosure wastes significantly more of your trunk than a single driver alternative. The Solution The P12-WDS III's back panel angles at approximately 20 degrees, closely matching typical rear seat recline. Position the shallow edge (8.5") against the seatback and the deep edge (13.75") on the trunk floor — the enclosure fills the available space correctly with no wasted void behind it. The full 2.0 ft³ internal airspace is preserved through optimized width and height dimensions. No acoustic compromise. Space savings only. Where The Wedge Pays Off Full-size sedans running dual 12" drivers where trunk depth is the limiting factor. Coupes and sports cars with aggressive seat recline angles and enough trunk width for a 28" enclosure. Any dual driver install where the rectangular alternative consumes too much of the upper trunk space. The wedge format is the correct solution when you need two drivers and you still need to use your trunk. Construction: Langboard Elite MDF, V-Groove And Dado Joinery Langboard Elite MDF, Named And Mill-Documented Every panel is cut from Langboard Elite MDF, 3/4" (18mm), a named, mill-documented panel stock produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data. Density 48.5 lbs/ft³ Higher density means less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance Internal Bond 200 psi Resistance to delamination under sustained bass pressure Modulus of Elasticity 410,000 psi Panel stiffness under load; less flex means less resonance Face Screw Holding 325 lbs Baffle hardware stays locked under vibration Edge Screw Holding 250 lbs Joint integrity at every panel edge connection V-Groove And Dado Joinery Every panel joint uses V-groove and dado joinery — CNC-cut interlocking grooves that mechanically lock panels before adhesive is applied. The angled back panel on a wedge enclosure presents joint geometry that simple butt joints cannot handle reliably over time. V-groove and dado joinery provides the mechanical interlocking and increased glue surface area that keeps angled joints airtight under bass pressure cycling. Internal Bracing At 28" wide, the P12-WDS III has significant unsupported panel spans. Internal bracing runs throughout the common chamber to control panel resonance independently of joinery. Every structural flex point is addressed before it becomes an acoustic problem — the result is an enclosure that stays rigid and acoustically inert under sustained output from two drivers. Proline X Terminal Cup Built in-house at our Tennessee facility. Proline X ABS/carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless hardware and copper ring terminals, pre-wired 12g OFC speaker wire. Recessed mount keeps the cup protected from cargo contact. Hand-Assembled In Tennessee Every enclosure is CNC-cut on ShopSabre industrial routers and hand-assembled at our facility in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Inspected before it ships. No overseas manufacturing. Fitment Guide Dimensional Specifications External Dimensions: 28" W x 14.5" H x 8.5" D (top) / 13.75" D (bottom) Net Internal Volume: 2.0 ft³ — common chamber Alignment: Sealed Subwoofer Cutout: 11.13" x2 Max Mounting Depth: 8.5" Front Panel Thickness: 0.75" Single Baffle Driver Compatibility The P12-WDS III accommodates any 12" subwoofer with a cutout diameter at or below 11.13" and a mounting depth at or below 8.5". Both drivers share a common 2.0 ft³ sealed chamber. Verify published driver specs before ordering. If you need help confirming compatibility with a specific driver, contact us before purchasing. Installation Orientation Position the shallow edge (8.5") against the rear seat, with the deep edge (13.75") on the trunk floor. This is the orientation that produces the space-saving benefit — the taper follows the angle of the rear seatback, eliminating the triangular void that forms behind a rectangular enclosure. Installing with the deep edge against the seat defeats the purpose of the wedge geometry entirely. Verify orientation before final installation. Dual 12" Sealed. Wedge Geometry. Tennessee-Built.
