These horizontal metal railing inserts drop into a deck or balcony rail so the opening reads as a finished panel instead of bare balusters or empty space. This insert uses a geometric cracked-ice grid cutout. Three sizes, all 3 ft high (about the height of a standard deck-rail opening): 4 ft W × 3 ft H for $315, 6 ft W × 3 ft H for $450, and 8 ft W × 3 ft H for $600. Built to sit in a standard deck or balcony rail frame. Custom sizing is available on request if your opening is an odd one. Every piece is cut from 12-gauge steel, which is 3mm thick. Most online sign shops use 14 or 16-gauge, roughly half the thickness. Ours gets powder-coated after cutting, and that finish is rated around 20 years in direct sun before it needs redoing.
