Ethiopia Hadeso Filter

Juicy blackcurrant meets floral honeysuckle and sweet lemonade in a bright, beautifully balanced and refreshing cup. Hadeso Washing Station sits high in Ethiopia’s Guji region, receiving freshly picked cherries from around 500 smallholder farmers each harvest. Owned by family-run Testi Coffee, the station was established in 2017 and produces both washed and natural coffees. Most contributing families grow coffee organically on small plots of two to five hectares, alongside crops including corn, grain and bananas, creating a farming landscape where coffee production remains closely connected to the land and surrounding community. Altitude plays a huge role in what makes Hadeso coffee so distinctive. Farms sit between 1800 and 2050 MASL, where cooler temperatures allow coffee cherries to ripen more slowly, developing denser beans and greater sweetness and complexity. Coffee also grows beneath native Birbira, Wanza and Acacia shade trees. This naturally processed lot brings all that character together beautifully, with juicy blackcurrant, delicate honeysuckle and sweet lemonade creating a bright and wonderfully expressive cup.
