Betula utilis 'Doorenbos' Standard rootball , 3-3.5 m tall

White Himalayan Birch (Betula utilis 'Doorenbos') Standard TreeCreate a striking focal point with the luminous bark and graceful crown of White Himalayan Birch. Betula utilis 'Doorenbos' is prized for its white, peeling bark, bringing contrast to green planting and a strong architectural presence when the branches are bare in winter.Supplied approximately 3–3.5 m tall as a standard tree with a rootball, this birch adds height and structure to garden and landscape schemes. Position it where the trunk can be enjoyed throughout the year, against evergreens or beside a view from the house. Why choose 'Doorenbos'? Distinctive white bark provides year-round interest as the tree develops. A graceful, shapely crown brings an airy quality to planting. Green deciduous foliage turns yellow in autumn. The pale trunk stands out particularly well against darker foliage. Standard form creates a clear structural focal point. Supplied size and formSupplied as a standard rootballed tree approximately 3–3.5 m tall. This is the supplied height, not the eventual mature size. Branching, crown shape and bark development vary naturally between individual trees. Although elegant in appearance, this is not a dwarf birch, so allow room for future growth.Position and growing conditionsChoose full sun or partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid ground that remains waterlogged or becomes persistently dry. Give the tree sufficient space to develop its crown and roots, with a position that shows off the pale trunk.Planting and aftercareKeep the rootball moist and protected before planting. Prepare a wide planting hole and set the tree with its root flare at soil level. Backfill carefully, water thoroughly and stake where needed to stabilise the rootball. Apply mulch clear of the trunk and water during dry spells while establishing. Check tree ties regularly as the trunk grows.
