The Lago Tronchi by Korewolamp A mountain lake, frozen in glass tronchi /ˈtroŋ.ki/ · Italian, plural noun Tree trunks. In lighting, a chandelier made of textured glass tubes hung in rings or tiers, a style born in 1970s Italy and named for the bark-like ripple in its glass. The Lago Tronchi is a four-tier glass tube chandelier that looks like the surface of a mountain lake in early spring, half ice and half water. Rings of textured glass tubes step down from a gold or satin nickel frame, each tube rippled like tree bark, so light breaks into soft, moving lines as it passes through. It began with the tronchi chandeliers of 1970s Italy, when designers started hanging rough, hand-textured glass in tiers instead of polished crystal. We kept that rippled glass and the tapering four-ring silhouette, then made it in two colors: an ocean blue that reads like deep water, and a milky blue that glows soft and pale, like lake ice catching the sun. Switched off, it catches daylight like a column of ice. Switched on, the bulbs hidden inside the tiers fill every tube from within, and the whole chandelier glows from the inside out, bright enough for a dining table, soft enough for a bedroom. Hang the ocean blue version in a coastal or Mediterranean home, or choose milky blue for Scandinavian, Japandi and quiet modern rooms. Will it fit my ceiling height?The body is 21.6″ (55 cm) tall and hangs from a 59.1″ (150 cm) chain that can be shortened, so it works with standard 8 ft ceilings. For high or double-height ceilings, we supply a longer chain and cord. Can it be installed on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?Yes. What bulbs does it use, and is it dimmable?Choose E12 (standard in the US and Canada) or E14 (standard in Europe, the UK and much of Asia), up to 40W per bulb on AC 110–240V. LED bulbs are recommended. The chandelier uses an on/off switch and is not dimmable. How is it shipped and assembled?The glass tubes are packed separately to protect them in transit. After the frame is mounted and wired, hang each tube on its hook, tier by tier. We recommend installation by a licensed electrician. How do I clean the glass tubes?Switch off the power and let the bulbs cool, then dust the tubes with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For a deeper clean, lift the tubes off their hooks, wash them by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap, and dry fully before rehanging. Can I install it in a bathroom or outdoors?No. The Lago Tronchi is rated IP20 and is designed for indoor dry locations only.
