Sunlit Motion

Devon made this on film during a bigger swell in Malibu — sets pushing overhead, whitewater stacking across the lineup. The surfer is mid-bail, board in hand, body already committed to the foam. The film exposure blurs the spray into streaks instead of frozen droplets, giving the whole frame a sense of speed that digital usually strips out. On hazy mornings the marine layer over the Santa Monica Mountains drops the contrast and turns the Pacific that deep, saturated teal.
