Drop Spindle 101

Spinning yarn - not as hard as you think! Trust us. Let Victoria help you get started on your spinning journey with drop spindle 101. This class is for absolute beginners, so no prior experience is needed. In this 2 week class where you will learn how to: Use the park and draft method Check your single for balance Use a niddy-noddy and figure out yardage Wet set your single so it is ready to use in your projects There is an expectation that students will finish the assigned homework between classes. We will be covering the trickiest parts while we're together, and practicing is recommended to build muscle memory. This is a two part class. Dates will be on Sundays, from 10am-12pm. 2026 Dates: November 22nd and November 29th Class 1 - Learning how to spin your single Class 2 - Winding off and wet setting your yarn Materials Needed Nothing! You will be able to borrow one of our drop spindles (with an option to purchase it at the end of the class if you decide you wish to keep working with that tool) and we will provide you with some fiber to get started.
