Ships with your kiln, from our Dorset unit. Why we put this together Most people who email us before buying a kiln open with some version of "I'm not a professional potter". You don't need to be. But you do need somewhere to make the thing you're going to fire — and we kept watching customers buy a kiln, then come back three weeks later for a wheel, then again for an apron, then ask where to get clay. So this is the shortcut. One kiln order, one wheel package, and everything turns up together. The Thistle is for the person who's already thrown on something lighter and wants a wheel that won't be the limit: direct drive, no belt, and the torque to centre a serious lump of clay without it shuddering. We don't discount the wheel to make the bundle look clever. You pay what it costs, and the rest is simply free — because the whole point is that you keep making, not that you spend an afternoon comparing checkouts. How it works 1Pick your kiln Any kiln in our range — top-load, front-load, plug-in or hard-wired. If you're not sure which, call us and we'll talk it through with you. 2Add this package Choose your apron colour and add it to the basket with your kiln. The shelf, apron and clay are already in the price — nothing to tick, nothing to remember. 3Sit down and make something Everything arrives together. Apron on, clay out, wheel on — and the first thing you throw is the first thing you fire. Built to go with a kiln. If you'd like the Thistle direct-drive wheel on its own, it has its own page — this package is for adding to a kiln order. What's in the box Thistle direct-drive wheel 800W direct-drive motor with no belt to slip, 25kg centring capacity, hall-effect foot pedal, built-in USB-A and USB-C charging, in sage green and cream. A wheel that gets out of your way and lets you concentrate on the clay. Thistle Wheel Shelf A purpose-built wipe-clean white shelf on a sage powder-coated bracket, made to bolt straight to the Thistle. The first ones arrive with our next container; if your wheel ships first, the shelf follows on at no charge. Usually £129 — included free. Craft apron — teal, pink, milk or red Linen-cotton blend, full front coverage, a generous cut and proper pockets. Made for us, so the colours sit with the wheel rather than fighting it. Usually £44.95 — included free. 12.5kg of clay A bag of throwing clay so your first session can start the day the box arrives, and the kiln has something to fire. Included free. Not sure it's the right wheel for your kiln? Ask us before you order. We'll tell you straight — even if the honest answer is a different wheel, or that you don't need this yet. When you're ready, it ships with your kiln, with a 3-year wheel warranty and a 30-day home trial. If anything isn't right, send the package back and keep the kiln.
