He has participated in the Vail Jazz Workshop (2021) and the Monterey Jazz Festival Next Gen Jazz Orchestra (2022, 2023). In the May 2023 issue of Downbeat Magazine, he received two awards for his big band arrangement of Thelonius Monk’s We See and original composition, Embrace. Luciano is also a previous winner of the International Trombone Association’s Carl Fontana Competition. Luciano has two albums under his leadership, entitled Fusion Five and New Places, Old Faces. His latest release, New Places, Old Faces features original compositions based on his experience during his first year in NYC. The album comprises a line-up composed of Juilliard musicians, and focuses on themes of struggle, liberation, and hope.
