There are now three of them. The Wave and The Wind have been out in the world for a while. You might know them. They do not really ask for permission. They spread, they separate, they occasionally take over the entire situation and leave you standing there like, okay… fine. They have a bit of range. And then one day I was just working with them, minding my own business, and suddenly there was a third one… The Shore. And the first thing you notice is that she is not here for the same reasons. Where The Wave is busy moving everything around like it has somewhere to be, and The Wind changes direction halfway through just to keep things interesting, The Shore sits there like she has already seen how this plays out. Built around ochre, she has that dry, grounded, slightly unimpressed energy. Not trying to compete. Not trying to shine. Just quietly making the other two look better. Which, if we are being honest, they needed. The Wind is the dramatic one. Expands more than expected. Pulls pigment with it like it is carrying emotional luggage. The Wave is lighter but less predictable. Starts one way, ends somewhere else, leaves edges you did not plan but now have to respect. And then The Shore. The one that makes it all make sense. She holds things back just enough. Breaks up the movement. Adds resistance. Gives the pigment somewhere to land so it does not just… keep going. Together they behave like a slightly dysfunctional but very effective system. Nothing is fully under control, but somehow it works. All three are highly granulating. They separate, settle, and build their own structure on the paper depending on how much water you use and how patient you are willing to be. If you rush them, they will show you. If you slow down, they will also show you. Just more interesting things. They are not fast colors. They are more the type that need a moment, and then suddenly everything happens at once.
