Ensure the sub-floor is rigid, level, and capable of supporting the dead weight. Use a high-strength, flexible cement-based adhesive (S1 or S2 classification). Dry Laying: While Basaltina is relatively uniform compared to heavily veined marbles, natural tonal variations will still occur. Always "dry lay" your tiles before mixing adhesive to ensure a balanced distribution of tones. Factor in a 10–15% wastage allowance for cuts and grading. Sealing (Crucial): Despite its density, basalt is naturally porous.
