Drift and Stillness

Created for the exhibition, To Bergen, With Love. A quiet homage to Norway’s western fjords, this artwork blends a vintage postcard of Balholm (modern-day Balestrand - a historic artist community for over 150 years, located in Sognefjord) with personal photographs taken near Bergen. Screenprinted layers of graphite evoke misty mountains and still waters, while a soft brown pigment moon reflects the earthy tones of the landscape. Inspired by Balestrand in Sognefjord, the piece captures the region’s rain-soaked atmosphere - where drifting clouds, gentle light, and calm fjords create a sense of serenity.
