Encasing Memory: A Community Resin Workshop Artist: Donald Guevara Date: Sunday, June 14, 2026 Time: 12-3pm Where: Arcade Arts Workshop fee: $10 “Encasing Memory” is a hands-on community workshop inviting participants to preserve personal narratives through resin. Attendees will bring a 5×7 photograph or a different small object—such as trinkets, leaves, paper fragments, or found materials— to either cast within small molds or seal beneath poured resin. This workshop bridges craft, memory, and material transformation, allowing participants to create a tangible artifact that reflects personal history while learning foundational resin techniques. The act of encasing becomes both preservation and reinterpretation — freezing a moment while altering its physical state. Introduction to resin safety and techniques Demonstration of pouring and embedding Guided participant creation Open discussion and sharing Participants will leave with a completed or partially cured resin piece. All resin, molds, gloves, and safety materials will be provided.
