Nemesia - Red White
Nemesia strumosa Nemesia Red White is an eye-catching variety on compact 25cm plants producing rich red flowers with a contracting creamy white lower petal. Flowers throughout the summer and is easy to grow. Nemesia is a delicate annual flowering plant which originates from South Africa. It is appreciated as abundant, low summer flower that is ideal for bed borders, edges, rock gardens or as balcony and pot plants. Thrives in humus-rich, nutrient rich soil. Does not tolerate standing water. Remove wilted flowers to extend flowering time. Pre-cultivation (recommended): Mar-May. The seeds are only covered with a thin layer of seed soil or vermiculite - not too much, as the seeds need light to germinate. Placed in a bright and cool place at approx 15-18C. Excessive heat will hinder germination. Ventilate the mini-greenhouse daily. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started. Germination time is 14-20 days. Replant to 1 plant/pot. Pinch off the growing tops to encourage bushier plants. Plant out when the risk of frost is over. Direct sowing: Apr-May. Can be sown directly on growing sites in favorable locations in May. The seedbed is watered before sowing and the seeds are covered with soil 0.5 cm. Pre-cultivation is recommended for more reliable cultivation results. Flowering: Jun-Oct Spacing: 15 cm / 1 plant per GreenStalk pocket Sow depth, cm: 0.5 Height, cm: 20 - 30 Location: Sun Annual Number of seeds: 50
