Pickett’s Charge, Brian Farm, & the Copse of Trees by Simonne Roy

Simonne’s highly textured paintings are created by layering on oil paints with a palette knife, a paintbrush or a combination of the two tools. She finds her inspiration in nature and is typically drawn to a subject by the emotions evoked by the scene, which are often linked to past experiences and memories. Simonne has painted a wide variety of subjects around Central Pennsylvania, including Gettysburg. Her paintings have been awarded at the Lewisburg Arts Festival Show and other regional art shows, and in 2015 she completed a solo exhibit at Bucknell University.
