My first painting in almost four years. For a long time, my work sat hidden away in storage — finished pieces stacked unseen, collecting dust instead of being experienced. Every time I looked at them, it weighed heavily on me. Deep down, I knew they deserved more than that. They deserved to be seen, felt, and lived with. Over time, that feeling slowly chipped away at my love for painting. Even picking up a brush again began to feel heavy. I wanted to create so many times… but fear always stepped in. Fear of it not being good enough. Fear of repeating the same outcome. Fear of staying stuck in the same place creatively. I felt handcuffed by overthinking and held back by doubt. Until now. Umber came from a completely different place — not pressure or expectation, but excitement, ambition, and a genuine need to create again. No hesitation. No overthinking. Just instinct, emotion, and freedom. This piece marks the beginning of a new direction for my work — a more honest and intuitive approach to abstract painting, where each piece is built from a single moment, a mindset, and a feeling. Nothing in this painting is random. The colours reflect emotion. The movement reflects energy. The depth and balance are all intentional. This isn’t just paint on canvas.
