Practical guide to the use of Biodiversity Indices of the Biodiversity Friend® Standard (WBA Handbooks 14)

In 2010, declared by the UN the International Year of Biodiversity, WBA proposed to the world of agriculture a new certification standard based on the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of agrosystems: Biodiversity Friend®. This field guide illustrates the methods of application of the Biodiversity Indices of the BF standard, through the survey of the biological communities of particular organisms defined as bioindicators. These indices are able to provide useful indications on the degree of alteration of air, water, and soil. The Biodiversity Friend® protocol and the procedure for assessing Biodiversity Indices are protected by an industrial invention patent owned by the World Biodiversity Association. For any use of the procedure, authorization must be requested from the Patent holder by completing this FORM.
