On April 18, 2026, Touch and Go Records released untitled (albini rough mixes) as an exclusive Record Store Day 2026 Grey Matter colored vinyl record, packaged in a folder gatefold sleeve with custom matte and gloss varnishes and with a die-cut heavyweight inner sleeve. As with all previous Slint reissues, the art direction, design and layout were done by Temporary Residence Ltd. founder, Jeremy deVine. As such, we have 100 copies available to sell in our store. This edition is strictly limited, and these will be sold on first-come first-serve basis. Of the art direction and package design, deVine says: “I am always grateful for any opportunity to work with Slint. They’re very good friends and their music has been a sort of home base for me since I was a literal human child. In particular, the untitled 10" that was originally released in 1994 remains my favorite Slint release. There is something indescribably sinister and efficiently ominous that has certainly been copied countless times in the decades since, but remains truly peerless. The process of making this special untitled (albini rough mixes) edition was especially meaningful given its connections to our friend Steve, whom we all miss profoundly. Without Steve, not only does this record never happen, but Slint also potentially never sign to Touch and Go as it was this recording that finally convinced our friend Corey Rusk to sign them to the label.
