Cataloging Objects Termed “artefacts and realia” under AACR2, RDA treats puppets, dolls, board games, models, and specimens as three-dimensional and naturally occurring objects. The RDA instructions for describing these resources includes identifying attributes such as scale, base and applied materials, mounts, and uses a variety of terms for the extent. Also treats the cataloging of kits such as a boxed set of tools, a model kit, a paring of a book and audio-book for educational purposes, or even a book-club kit. All examples are provided using the MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data (MFBD).
