Description The UES Indigo Cotton Viyella Shirt is made in Japan from a lightweight indigo-dyed cotton fabric. Crafted in Japan with UES’s signature attention to texture and wearability, the Indigo Cotton Viyella Shirt brings a refined workwear sensibility to an everyday staple. It uses a lightweight indigo-dyed cotton Viyella fabric with rope-dyed warp and weft yarns. The weft uses slub yarn throughout, creating a rich depth of color and a surface that is not commonly seen in light weight indigo fabric. The fabric looks like a flannel but comes without the fluffy hand and the warmth. The buttons that come with the shirt are made from urea resin, so they are more resistant to aging than buttons made from natural materials. The shape uses the same pattern as the UES check flannel shirt. The soft 8 oz fabric with a light brushed interior feels good against the skin and is very comfortable to wear. This shirt can be easily worn in all three seasons except for summer. We see it as the light weight version of Tricotine shirt. Designed for comfort and versatility, this shirt has an easy drape and a slight relaxed look that works equally well layered over a tee or buttoned up on its own. As the indigo ages, the fabric develops more contrast and character, making each piece increasingly unique over time. It’s an understated shirt with real personality.
