That means fewer fuel stops, longer range between fill-ups, and more flexibility for drivers who are covering larger distances or simply want added peace of mind on longer trips. Hybrid Engine Integration The BYD Shark 6 utilises a hybrid powertrain that blends an internal-combustion petrol engine with an electric drivetrain. The additional fuel capacity of this Brown Davis tank complements the hybrid architecture by increasing the petrol-reserve side of the system, enabling extended use of the petrol engine component after the battery has discharged (or in “HEV” mode). In practice, this means that once the battery backup is drawn down, the petrol side has twice the standard fuel store to draw from — allowing the hybrid system to keep the vehicle operating further before refuelling. In short: you retain the benefits of the hybrid system’s electric assistance, and with the larger petrol tank you’ve also minimised one of the range-limiting factors (refuelling stops). Construction & Materials Each Brown Davis tank is crafted from aluminium-coated steel, combining the structural strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of aluminium. This material is petrol-resistant, tough enough for rugged off-road use, and proven in harsh Australian conditions.
