Hebrews 11:1 — Greek Ésti dé pístis élpizoménon hypóstasis, pragmáton élenchos ou blepoménon. Faith is the hupostasis — the underlying substance, the standing-under — of things hoped for. The elenchos — the legal proof, the courtroom evidence — of things not yet seen. Hebrews 11:1 Hupostasis is not metaphor. It is the literal substance from which physical reality is constructed. Faith is the operational mechanism that takes thought, converts it through feeling, stabilises it through belief, and crystallises it as the substance from which the visible world emerges. And Mark chapter eleven, verse twenty-three, gives you the operational instruction. Mark 11:23 — Greek Ámen légo hymín hóti hos an eípe to órei toúto… kai me diakrithé en te kardía autoú, allá pisteué hóti ho laleí gínetai… Whoever shall say to this mountain… and shall not doubt in his heart, but pisteué — continuously, in present-tense unbroken belief — that what he speaks is already coming into being… he shall have whatever he says. Mark 11:23 The Greek is not future tense. It is not aspiration. The grammatical structure is present-continuous, the same form Hebrew prophets used when speaking decrees they considered already-accomplished in the spiritual realm and merely awaiting physical manifestation.
