1.6 Power Transistor (Q7C2 Replacement)

Drop a rev 1.6 motherboard into a rev 1.0–v1.4 shell (or a custom case) and suddenly the console is completely bricked? You aren’t alone. If you didn’t trim down that extra metal chassis screw post, it shorts directly against the bottom of the board and burns out the transistor at Q7C2. MMBT4403 transistor is the replacement component you want to bring your dead 1.6 back. Location on Board: Q7C2 (near the clock capacitor / Xyclops chip area). Quantity: Available in 5 or 10 pieces. I only need 1, why 5 or 10? These things are tiny. Including plenty of spares in case one flies off your tweezers, or the floor-vortex known as your carpet consumes one. Tech Note for the Repair: Soldering surface-mount (SMD) components requires a steady hand, tweezers, and a fine soldering iron tip or hot air station.
