Danish Parker 'New Duofold'. c.1953.
The Parker Duofold was made, in Denmark, by the Olsen company under licence from Parker. This pen is very unusual in that the barrel imprint reads simply: 'New Parker Duofold' along with a 'star' imprint and the Christian Olsen anchor logo. Finished in classic black and gold, it is a distinguished pen with a good deal of presence. It is an Aerometric filler, introduced in the U.K. in 1953, the extremely rare 'New Duofold' imprint suggests that this is a very early pen. The pen has been serviced and tested and is in excellent working condition. It has a first class surface, clear imprint, and pristine Gold filling. The 14Ct. Gold Duofold nib, a Danish product, writes with a medium to broad line and has a very pleasing flex. In addition to the imprints, the pen differs from the English made Duofold Standard in that, when posted it is significantly longer at 15.5 cm., a good sized pen. The high quality box is new, it will serve well for transportation, protection, and display. The Danish production Parker Duofolds are hard to find. A pen with this imprint is a highly collectable rarity.
