15thC 3 Piece Antler Bauernwehr Knife Set – LEFT HANDED

PLEASE NOTE This Bauernwehr is made for left handed use. This medieval or renaissance knife set comprises of the main Bauernwehr knife, one smaller eating or utility knife and a pricker. This type of look and item was very popular in the German lands. All the utensils have stag antler grips and have steel fittings, the main knife has a nagel stud for knuckle protection. The scabbard has separate pockets for the by knife and the pricker and the whole is suspended from a thong, though it could be slit to take a belt. Decorated with a carved image of a two headed stork based on a coat of arms of a knightly family from middle Rhine region, which can be found in some of the most famous late fifteenth century books of heraldry.
