KS4 Lesson on Conceptual Art – There, Not There. Linked to a Contemporary Artist

This lesson encourages students to think conceptually. It is ideal for differentiation because it does not require artistic talent, only the ability to make choices and think conceptually. It is a popular lesson and an ideal way to bump up a GCSE student’s folder of work, because many pieces can be produced quickly. What form is the lesson in? It is a digital download in two parts – a lesson plan and a large PDF. The lesson is in the form of a multi slide Powerpoint converted into PDF. The Powerpoint was too large to upload, so you will need to either use just the PDF’s or convert them back to a Powerpoint presentation. It also contains a lesson plan that can be converted to your school’s format. Materials needed: A4 white paper Glue Scissors or craft knife and cutting mat Photographs of interesting buildings or people doing things, or activities / sports / events (not included).
