Antique English Staffordshire Parma Hand Painted Serving Platter Livesley Powell & Co 1850s

Beautiful antique serving platter from the "Parma" pattern manufactured by Livesley, Powell & Co. (and later continued by Powell & Bishop), operating out of Hanley in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. "Parma" is a romantic "Staffordshire transferware" design that features a detailed central scene with a classic European-style large urn overflowing with roses, situated against a scenic lakeside landscape with architectural ruins, steps, and balustrades. This lovely raised serving platter is a highly desirable polychrome transferware variation. The design was first printed in a base color (soft purple) and then meticulously hand-painted with vibrant enamels over the glaze to bring out the bright pink, yellow, and green floral colors. If you inspect the back of the platter closely, you may see a tiny stamped monogram of "L P & Co" or "P & B" nested near or directly below that decorative "Parma" cartouche!
