This reference marked a notable revival for Audemars Piguet when it debuted in 2023: the first Royal Oak ever to feature a natural turquoise stone dial, reviving the maison's celebrated 1960s and 1990s tradition of stone-dial creations. Throughout those decades, AP cut Royal Oak dials from lapis lazuli, aventurine, garnet, mother-of-pearl, opal, ruby, and amethyst — a practice that had largely fallen dormant. Turquoise, prized by Egyptian and Chinese civilizations over three thousand years ago for its singular color, makes its first appearance in the collection here. As one of the very few "no-tapisserie" Royal Oaks, this reference departs from the model's signature engine-turned dial pattern entirely. The 37mm case in 18-karat yellow gold measures just 8.9mm thick, satin-brushed with polished bevels and the signature octagonal bezel. The natural turquoise dial — every example unique in its matrix patterning — carries yellow gold applied baton hour markers and luminescent Royal Oak hands, with a date aperture at three set against a tone-on-tone background. The self-winding Caliber 5900, visible through the sapphire caseback, delivers a 60-hour power reserve via a decorated gold rotor. An integrated yellow gold Royal Oak bracelet with AP folding clasp completes the watch.
