Perrine Fresne 'Les Basses Croix' Blanc de Meunier
Having enjoyed her non-vintage blend and rosé de saignée we thought we'd delve a little deeper into the collection with this fabulous small-batch Meunier. Coming from parcels planted out some 50 years ago, the concentration is brilliant whilst a typical Marne terroir of sand, silt and chalk, gives the wine a mineral finesse. On the palate, there is complexity and layering, with bright fruit and lovely floral elements, followed by smoke from the oak in the background, and a persistent finish. House Profile Based in the village of Sermiers, in the south of the Petite Montagne de Reims, Perrine is one of the very few independent winemakers in a village dominated by a co-operative. Sarmate is her debut cuvée and really shows her potential. We're excited to see where her wines are heading!
