Extra Large Antique Brillie French Kitchen Wall Clock An original French factory clock manufactured by Brillie. This clock was the “Master” clock that communicated to the “Slave” clocks around the factory. The clock has a hinged glass front secured by a pair of brass fittings which enables access to modify the time and change the battery. The clock has been converted to quartz battery mechanism, retaining its original glass and hands. It has a fixing eyelet at the top and bottom of the clock backing to secure to the wall. The clocks steel casing retains its original taupe coloured factory paint. The Brillié company, founded in 1897, developed the electric clock into a commercial product; providing clocks to the Paris Observatory and other national companies.
