Methylene Blue Capsules

Methylene Blue 10 mg Capsules are a compounded oral capsule preparation containing 10 mg Methylene Blue per capsule. Methylene blue is a thiazine dye and redox-active compound used medically in injectable form for acquired methemoglobinemia, while low-dose oral use in functional and integrative medicine is generally considered off-label. FDA-labeled injectable methylene blue is indicated for acquired methemoglobinemia, but these capsules are not intended for emergency treatment of methemoglobinemia. In naturopathic, functional, and integrative medicine, low-dose methylene blue is commonly discussed for mitochondrial redox support, cellular energy metabolism, cognitive performance, mental clarity, oxidative-stress resilience, and neuroprotective support protocols. Human evidence for cognitive and mitochondrial applications is still limited and should be interpreted as emerging rather than definitive. A small randomized neuroimaging study reported increased activity in attention and short-term memory brain regions and improved memory retrieval after low-dose oral methylene blue, supporting further study rather than broad treatment claims.
