DATAFORTH DCP485

The DATAFORTH DCP485 is a compact RS-232 to RS-485 converter with complete electrical isolation and heavy-duty surge protection. It features a DIN-rail mountable enclosure suitable for junction boxes, panels, relay racks, or any DIN rail installation. Isolation is provided by optical couplers and a transformer-isolated DC-to-DC converter. RS-232 connection is via male or female EIA 9-pin D-sub connectors or a 3-wire RS-232 connection through pluggable screw terminals. RS-485 connections are made through pluggable solderless screw terminals. The DCP485 is designed for full duplex operation over two wire pairs, with tri-state outputs supporting up to 32 units on a multidrop bus. Data rates range from DC to 115.2K baud. Four diagnostic LED indicators are provided for installation and troubleshooting. RS-485 transmitter control supports RTS, DTR, or automatic line switching per character. Independent termination and bias resistor switches are included for the RS-485 lines. The unit is powered from +10 to +30 VDC via pluggable screw terminals.
