Mystery Single Vineyard Eden Valley Shiraz 2018
This 94-point Eden Valley Shiraz comes from a dry-grown, low-yielding single vineyard planted to old vines. The fruit was hand-picked, fermented with 25% whole bunches and matured for 18 months in medium and large-format French oak. Deeply coloured and tightly structured, it delivers concentrated blackberry and blueberry fruit layered with lifted violet, fragrant spice and subtle oak. Fine, polished tannins and fresh natural acidity carry everything through a long, composed finish. With the benefit of bottle age, this is drinking beautifully now—yet still has the structure and concentration to reward further careful cellaring. The label remains a mystery. The quality certainly doesn’t. 94 Points - WA Wine details Vintage: 2018 Region: Eden Valley, South Australia Variety: Shiraz Vineyard: Dry-grown, old-vine single vineyard Winemaking: Hand-picked, 25% whole bunch and hand-plunged Maturation: 18 months in French oak, approximately 50% new Alcohol: 14.5% Bottle size: 750ml Closure: Screwcap
