Digitalis thapsi 'Spanish Peaks' Digitalis thapsi 'Spanish Peaks', commonly known as Spanish Foxglove, is a compact and charming hardy perennial foxglove with real character. Unlike the taller common foxglove, it forms a neat rosette of softly woolly, grey-green foliage and produces upright spikes of rosy-pink tubular flowers with darker spotting in the throat from late spring into summer. A wonderful choice for a sunny border, gravel garden, or wildlife-friendly planting. The flowers are particularly attractive to bumblebees. 'Spanish Peaks' is more compact than most foxgloves, making it ideal for smaller borders or gravel gardens. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil and is happy from full sun through to partial shade. Flower spikes can be left over winter to provide shelter for insects and interest in the border.
