Yellow Pride of Barbados, also referred to as Dwarf Poinciana because of its resemblance and its botanical relationship (Family: Fabaceae Subfamily: Caesaloinioideae) to the Poinciana tree, yet it differs in size, reaching a height of 3 meters, it retains its leaves throughout the year, blooms continuously and the branches, stems and petioles are armed with sharp spines.This fast growing native to the tropics and subtropics of America needs full sun and well-drained soil.
